Rebuilding the railway station

The rebuilding of the Oslo Airport Railway Station will commence in April. The station will be larger and more open, have a new ceiling, as well as a new Arrivals and departures hall to the west. During the first four months we will build a smaller and temporary station, a sort of “house within the house” in the current railway station. This structure will be in place for four years until the new railway station is completed and opens in spring 2017.

The railway station will retain its central position in the new facility between the new and existing arrivals and departures halls. You will still be able to walk from the train to check-in and gate without having to walk far, or being afraid of getting lost. Although there will be more passengers, OSL will remain compact.

You can travel as normal
During the expansion of the railway station we will do our very best to ensure that your trip will proceed as normal. For this reason, work on the temporary station building will only be carried out at night. There are no trains at night, so passenger safety can be easily maintained and inconveniences reduced to a minimum. The station area will not be as nice, large or open during the construction period, but traffic will be as normal, and the work will have no impact on your trip.
