New arrivals and departures hall to the west

We are not constructing a new terminal, but expanding the existing one. The terminal will still be one building, as the new section will be integrated in the existing terminal. It will have the same characteristic roof and volume as it currently has. Work commenced in the summer of 2012 and the new hall will be completed in 2017.

You will hear some construction noise, but your trip will be as normal
Most of the construction work will not be visible to passengers, as temporary walls will be erected to hide the construction site. Traffic will flow as normal, and your trip will not be affected, however, there will be some construction noise.

Increased capacity
The new addition, with departures and arrivals hall will be 52 000 square metres. The capacity in the departure halls will be increased by 34 check-in desks. These so-called walkthrough desks are more efficient and flexible and will generate fewer queues. The addition will also have a new baggage system.

The railway station will retain its central position in the new facility between the new and existing arrivals and departures halls, minimising walking distances for passengers.
