Ticket inspection prior to security checkpoint

From 15 March 2011 a new EU / EEA regulation requires travellers to present a valid ticket before passing the security checkpoint.

Examples of valid proof of travel include:
- The airline ticket
- Boarding card (paper / mobile phone / tablet)
- Itinerary received by e-mail (paper / mobile phone / tablet)
- Text message on a mobile phone
- E-ticket, (credit card used to buy  electronic ticket, only applicable for DY, SK-flights)
- Other valid proof of travel

The ticket will be checked by a security guard prior to the security checkpoint either manually or using a barcode- / card reader. Minors are allowed to be escorted to the gate.  For passengers in need of assistance, there will be the same practice.

Background for the introduction
Most European countries have already introduced this regulation. The Civial Aviation Authority of Norway has now decided that the regulation is to be introduced at all Norwegian airports in compliance with EU-regulations.

The purpose of the new regulation is to prevent unauthorised access to security restricted areas. In principle the security restricted areas are only to be used by passengers and employees with valid ID-card.
