Passing through security

Our passengers' customer satisfaction is an important area of focus for us at OSL.  We know that paying attention to a few minor details can make the process of passing through security easier and more pleasant for everyone.
Gjennom sikkerthetskontrollen

Through a process of interdisciplinary cooperation between technical and operational personnel, we have arrived at a way of organising the security area that both increases its capacity and improves its suitability for the tasks our security officers are required to perform. This has helped make security a more pleasant experience for both staff and passengers. If you comply with the following points, the process of passing through security will be quicker for everyone:

- to minimise the risk of theft or damage, all valuables and metal items (wallets, mobile phones, keys, coins etc.) should be placed either inside your hand baggage or in the pockets of your coat or jacket

- larger electrical items (laptops, digital cameras, handheld games consoles etc.) must be taken out of your hand baggage, placed in the plastic trays provided and sent separately through the X-ray machine (each laptop must be placed in a separate tray)

- your bag with containers for liquids (each of 100 ml or less) must be taken out of your hand baggage and placed in the plastic tray provided before being sent through the X-ray machine

- outerwear and jackets must be removed and sent through the X-ray machine

Random additional security checks

Passengers and hand baggage may be selected for manual spot checks, even though they have passed through the metal detector arch or X-ray machine without any problem. The security officer will undertake a manual search for banned items. If you are selected at random for a manual search, you must remove your shoes so that they can be sent through the X-ray machine.

If you wish the search to be carried out by a person of your own gender, please inform the security officer.
