February 10, 2012 02:55 PM By Oslo Airport
In January 2012, 1,5 million passengers travelled through Oslo Airport. This is around 110,000 more than in 2011, a growth of 8 percent. The number of domestic passengers increased 9 percent growth and international passengers 7 percent.
The number of aircraft movements reached 17,515, which is 2 percent more than in January 2011. The passenger load factor in January was 65 percent.
The biggest increase is in flights to and from Northern Norway.
- Many people spent Christmas and New Year abroad, and some of the growth is due to these passengers returning in early January. It is our impression that the Norwegian economy continues to thrive, and we see an increase in private travel as well as business travel, says Knut Stabæk, who is in charge of traffic development at Oslo Airport.
