Annual report 2009
Oslo Lufthavn AS achieved a good result again in 2009, especially given the development of the global economy.
Ongoing operations went smoothly without major interruptions, and the airport's capacity was expanded during the year.
Aviation was heavily affected by the downturn in the global economy in 2009 and traffic levels fell at all major airports. Busy domestic traffic in Norway cushioned some of the fall, but Oslo Airport Gardermoen also experienced a significant fall in traffic. The fall halted towards the end of the year, and traffic levels rose in the final two months of the year.
The eastwards expansion of the Terminal was opened in connection with the start of summer traffic, and provided more floor space and increased capacity both for check-in and baggage handling. Construction work was also carried out on the taxiways and aircraft parking spaces at the old terminal on the western side, which will improve capacity and safety.
The company’s operating profit (before financial items) was NOK 1,381 million. This is NOK 36 million lower than in 2008. The profit after tax came to NOK 753 million.
